SCCLA's Phoenix Rising Workshop

APABA is proud to be a co-sponsor of Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association's Phoenix Rising, a full-day workshop that will teach you the essential skills you need to maximize your legal profile. Learn how to elevate your image by achieving all the intangibles that you know you need, you wish you had, and you want to develop. Gain insight into overcoming internal and external obstacles faced by all counselors and advocates. Topics will include:
  • Developing and Honing Leadership and Advocacy Skills
  • Rainmaking and Making Connections
  • Balancing Career and Life Goals
  • Stress Management
  • Job Hunting Tips From The Experts
  • Refining Resume Writing And Job Interview Skills
  • Breaking the "Glass Ceiling"
The program will include presentations and workshops from esteemed speakers (judges, attorneys, and mental health and recruiting professionals), as well as breakfast and lunch. 4.5 hours MCLE credits are also included (including 1 hour of elimination of bias and 1 hour of substance abuse/mental illness prevention)!

This workshop will provide practical tips and strategies on achieving success at work, while still having time for family, social life, and community service. Critical issues not typically addressed in other forums will be discussed, such as law firm politics, mentorship, ascertaining power and skills, and the importance of developing your own style. While originally designed to meet the unique challenges facing Asian women attorneys, this workshop is open and beneficial to all attorneys who want to take their legal image and presence to the next level.
